KAKARIKIS (Cyanoramphus Novaezelaniae) Native To New Zealand. Also Known As The Red Fronted Parakeet. 28 Cm In Size. This Species Is Now Extinct On The New Zealand Mainland And Can Only Be Found On Ten Of The Local Islands. The Kakariki Is Now Classed As Vulnerable And Is Presently On The IUCN Red List. This Is Now My Third Season With Kakariki's, They Are So Far Willing Breeders. My Kakariki's Love Eating Fruit And Sunflower Seeds And Are Very Partial To Dandelion's. I Give Them Soaked Parakeet Seed Everyday Which They Eagerly Wait For At The Feed Table. They Will Take Dandelion Heads From My Hands. They Also Like Lettuce Which Some People Say Is Unusual For Parakeets? Kakariki's Need To Be Wormed Regular And Also Treated For Scaley Face Because They Love To Eat Of The Ground.
